An Open Letter to Georgia State Representative Pedro Marin From an Eco-Force Member

Dear State Representative Pedro Marin,

Hello my name is Miles C. Ezeilo. I’m 9 years old, and I go to Brookwood Elementary School. At Brookwood Elementary I am the Treasurer for a club there called Eco-Force. I am writing to express my concerns about the use of plastic bags. We all know plastic bags are bad for the environment right? Yet some people are still choosing plastic bags over the reusable bags. It drives me crazy! So much that I made a plan to stop it.

It’s as simple as this: Start charging people for plastic bags! Which if you add it all up, that will be a lot of money that can be used for parks and trails. I was thinking about charging about 25cents per bag. If you charge lower, people will still choose plastic bags. But if you charge too high, people might not want to go to the supermarket anymore. So 25cents per bag is a good amount.

Please write me a back and tell me how you plan to end the use of plastic bags in Georgia.
Thank you!
